The title may sound a full time bakra news item for all the TV News channels but nothing of this sort actually happened. I just wanted to have a title which will have words (tags) related to the content of this post to improve search ranking of the blog . I somehow noticed that words in the title of a post gets more notice in any search results. It was long time i had any new music and i hate downloading so i just went ahead and bought all the cd's which had any good song and this is what i have.

Yup, they all have a fantastic fan following and have a common Genre in all of them, they are all are a creation (or an adaptation) of Mithoon. Many might not know about this chap but this guy who started his music career with Mahesh Bhatt and Co. is some name in indian music arena. An excerpt from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mithoon

Mithoon Sharma (born Jan 11, 1986 is an Indian Bollywood film music composer and singer. He is the son of Naresh Sharma who has scored background music for more than 200 movies. Mithoon first started out in the Mahesh Bhatt camp adapting popular Pakistani pop songs into Hindi movies most notably Woh Lamhe from the movie Zeher. Since then he has moved on to composing his own music as a guest composer in movies like Bas Ek Pal and Anwar. Although the movies did not do well, the music was well received and Mithoon's work was appreciated.
In 2006 Mithoon replaced his rumouredly good friend Himesh Reshammiya for composing the soundtrack for the movie The Train. This will mark his very first full album composition for a hindi movie.
During his days in the Bhatt camp, Mithoon forged a good friendship with Pakistani Pop Star Atif Aslam resulting in thier joint composition for Atif's new album Doorie along with Sachin.

And here we are gifted with one more hit number from him from the upcoming movie The Train.

A system which can learn about my taste of music and will recommend similar tracks/artists/albums. And to be precise i wished the system to do the following things.

Acts as a plugin (with WMP11 or winamp) as i dont want to run many music players.
Learns my music taste from the music in my library
- uses star ratings of music tracks
- or recently played tracks
Recommends me music tracks which i might like
Creates playlist of the recommended tracks which are present in my music library
Export them to other formats recognized by Last.fm or other online music providers

But the search has'nt ended yet

The album also packs some more mixes which are worth if you like a lil paced up melody with a bit a trance.

The video of Doorie (the title track) is out and is on air on all leading music/fm channels of the country with a bang.

This time the video has been shot nicely and in more professional way. But as the video production has been handled by the indian pros. obviously it has to be "inspired" ;) It is a Xerox copy of the Rasmus video of "In the shadows"

RAETH - Sand in English, Ret in Hindi and Reth in Telugu.

Yeah, urdu seems to be a lot similar or derived from Telugu, i assume/guess that the creator of urdu would have been a Hyderabadi with a southern touch. We can also file for patent and we have proof in terms of Swathi Tiffins, Jayalalitha or all the adithi's, jyothi's, deepthi's or whatsoever.

Anyways, i deferred from the topic again and obviously this was'nt another unsuccessful attempt to file a patent :P

Raeth - Is a new production from the PMBF - Pakistani Music Band Factory.

Heard them, Saw them, Enjoyed them, Liked them & Loved them all at one go for the first time on MTV today. They rocked and i am still searching for video/audio clips, trailers or links on TV or on internet till this time.

On the first go they might seem similar to Jal and would eventually face a lot of comparisons but they offer a unique mix of eastern and western sounds and surely this rock band comprising Wajhi Farouqui, Hassan Farabi, Mustafa Asad and Alfred D’Mello is different from Strings, Junoon and the latest to enter Jal. Wajhi Farouqui has given the vocals, while Hassan Farabi strungs the guitar for the numbers in the album.

Junoon was more with a loud-metal-sufiyan touch whereas Strings went on to a completely diff. track with desi Linkin Park as their soul style which had a lot of guitar, percussion and trance with punjabi and hindi lyrics.

Jal is more in a soft-rock or pop-trying-to-rock category with hindi lyrics and their acoustic guitar with a lil more stress on vocals. Atif Aslam's album has lil more of Punjabi but falls in the same category with most of the hit songs being common between the 2. There are some tracks which can be tagged as proper rock music but they are few. Atif's "Gal Sun Ja" was one of my fav in that aspect. It actually rocks, if you can understand Punjabi.

Raeth's best song from their self titled album can be "Bhula Do" and quickly followed by "Tumhare liye". Their album has a total of 11 tracks with 3 versions of Bhula Do. Bhula Do's video is already out and is again more of a soft-rock composition which is supposedly recorded in Pakistan and they are planning to record a video in India for their next big song Tumhare Liye which seems to be poppy in genre.

CNN IBN seems to be covering their entry into the indian music arena and has a small piece here. They also have some nice review with a video.

Latest ones to follow footsteps of Junoon, Strings and Jal are the new-kids-on-the-block of Raeth, a Pakistani pop band setting platform for its music in India. With tracks like Bhulado and Tumhare Liye hitting the popular charts, Raeth is clearly striking the right chords in India.

P.S - Btw, did anybody notice that the name of last 2 bands from the factory are highly inspired by the naming convention (not hungarian) of Deepa Mehta's movies. So, what do we get next from PMBF? Jal (water) is out, Raeth (Earth) is out. Whats next? Air or Fire?

What if B- grade Indian movie promoters are outsourced the job to name the new upcoming 136 bands/albums in the queue at PBMF?

He He .. we'll surely get to see them as ...

Jal - the water, Raeth - the sand, Junoon - the madness.

But, what if Ekta Kapoor closes the deal first? Obviously we'll have them as ...

Kkkavita aur Dhaani, Kkaisi hai yeh sayyoniiii, Kkacche Dhaagon ki Strings, Kkaale Paani ka Jal, Khilti Raeth - the blooming sand ;))

What if Chopra's, Johar's and Barjatya's clinches the deal for naming? Thats something for you to decide, i might run out of space here ;)

JAL will be in town, but i hope there's no extra JAL from the rain gods, in case you cloudy folks have planned something for Saturday can we reschedule it please? Although they never did for any Felicity's so far.

They will be performing on 9th of Sep, this Saturday with DJ Suketu and Karunya (Indian Idol runner-up) at GBIT grounds on the eve of Carpediem seems to be some 1 day fest organized by their (CBIT) alumni junta.

They seem to be quite cool with their copyrights as they have put the mp3 version of all their songs on their website for download or it can be just an outcome of a the cut throat competition with Atif which also does the same.

Paathshala - on first go, feels like borrowed from Boys, after going thru Boys cd you are sure that it was meant for boys but managers triaged it for next release

Tu bin bataye - remember 'yeh haseen wadiyaan' from roza

Khalbali - no t-shits for any guesses, yes it was for Yuva but mehra's bid was high.

Khoon chala - typical Lakshya

Luka chuppi - starting music is ditto 'Aashayein' from Iqbaal. Lata made it look like borrowed from Zubaida but well sung and very touchy lyrics. NRI's must hear it once.

Roobaroo - Naresh Iyer tries his best but not a catchy number.

Lalkaar - a masterpiece. sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai.

Rang De Basanti - Mast maula track ... it had to be .. what more can you expect if Prasoon Joshi does the lyrics, Daler on the vocals and have Rahman for music.

All in all a new album with traditional A R Rahman ... most of it borrowed it from his past albums ... i guess the only thing left was Airtel's copyright music. Bharti might have bought rights for that

next will be Bluffmaster ... i guess i had to make that a cut. Will triage it for the next release :D

wtf am i posting a review for the fulllllllll album. man that CD added 200 bucks in the Credit. But wtfc .. ICICI aaj bhi kehta hai 'Hum hain naa .....'

Campus Rock Idol 2005 - hyderabad

good event organized in a very small space. Rock groups were good and some of them seemed quite talented. The one from ICFAI and Nalsar got me as theyplayed some rock unlike the rest who just had heavy metal.

At the end there was a headline act by Sledge and Synaps (runners-up @ campus rock 2004 frm b'lore)

the best part was Sledge playing "Sad but true" later Synaps came jumping around and thefirst song they played was "ChopSuey" - system of a down. Man they were really good and then their next song Evolution was really good. I heard its in their new album. let me get copy of it.

I was just about to go when Sledge went off but was caught on the way when Synaps started playing ChopSuey ... the banda on the lead was awesome and reminded me of the days when MNSSK used to play his tunes in campus events.

Although the show was good, but it could have been better given more Bands and some more space, so that one could avoid the smoke. yeah the cigarette smoke.

some key points i observed....

# black was the color of the day. i can surely say atleast 95% of the junta was wearing Black.

# around half of them had Metallica, Dream Theater, Slayer, Iron maiden, Twisted sister, Disturbed or Nirvana written on the T-Shirts.

# it was difficult to distinguish between a girl and a boy even by Long hairs, smoke in hand, shouting fk u, fk u .... these were no bars ... one guy had sucha long hairs ... i can surely bet he was a surd with his hairs open.

man' it would take years for one to grow them so long.... i wish my camera battery would have lasted long ...

# you dont need any id card or any pass to enter, if you are with a girl.

# ppl thought its mandatory to shake their head and move their body even if they dont get a single word of the track, the guy in blue shirt was not even going with the beats or music.

everybody came, played and went off .... but tht guy was moving in the same spirit, in the same to and fro motion and in the same direction too .... he he ... he was fun watching ;)

all in all a fun weekend without spending a penny :D

these were the words i was left humming after the saturday concert. yeah i am talking about Brit Masala.

no time to review the complete thing but damn ... it was fun ... evebdy was left dancing on the tunes of rishi rich. the fusion bhangra music was a perfect blend with the rap by jay sean. to top it all and to get everyone in the mood Bombay Rockers opened the show with their famous track Rock Tha Party ...

i got a glimpe of the show in a video clip but it is still unprocessed and pretty big to put it on web. some time later.

right now all i can share are some pics.
